Dog rose

Dog rose (Rosa canina), also known as wild rose or sweet briar, can be found is some hedgerows. It is beautiful, but vicious plant with sharp barbed thorns on the stems. The fruits (rose hips) are a valuable food source for birds in the winter so, in most instances, dog roses should be left alone. If any stems are cut back, these are enjoyed by rabbits.
