Ragwort rosette

Ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris) is a bienneial plant that overwinters as a rosette of innocuous looking leaves. It is a toxic plant and should be left alone although there are no reports of problems in rabbits. Some people advocate pulling it up as it is poisonous to horses. In verges and other places where horses do not graze it is can be lleft alone as it is an important plant for wildlife notably the Cinnabar moth
