Image OTH template Dental spur causing an abscess
This rabbit had an abscess on his right cheek that was caused by a spike on the lower 4th cheek tooth penetrating the oral mucosa. Amazingly, the rabbit was eating but on the left side only. The slanted wear on the incisors indicates this. The rabbit responded well to having the tooth trimmed and all the pus removed from the abscess plus a course of injectable penicillin and streptomycin.
